Why?

Broken Ground Design was born out of depression and unemployment.

I was formally diagnosed with depression in August, 2012, though I had been exhibiting symptoms for several years. Unemployment followed six months later. The two were not related.

With time on my hands as I sorted through my life, I revisited something in which I had dabbled for a while - designing maps and counters (playing pieces) for my favourite Squad-Level Combat game system.
